YouTube Next How-to Guru: Could you be next?

Picture this. You’re almost ready for that cocktail party and you realize you don’t know how to tie a bow-tie. Or you’re packing for the holidays and have no idea how to fit everything in your bag. Tons of people turn to YouTube to watch tutorials on everything from doing a perfect braid to learning how to poach an egg.

So we’re launching YouTube Next How-to Guru and are on the hunt to find the coolest, cleverest, canniest and most creative makers out there. Do you crochet with the crafters? Do you give tips about your Toyota? Do you offer pointers about pasta? No matter your speciality, whether it’s scrapbooking or baseball or anything else, we’d love to hear from all the How-To Gurus out there - you know who you are!

All you have to do is submit your channel which focuses on how-to videos, as long as it’s educational and family-friendly.

The top 16 YouTube Next How-To Gurus will be chosen, and will be awarded a special, private Google+ workshop series from industry experts and YouTube staff, $4,000 worth of production equipment, and promotion on YouTube to help bring new eyeballs to your videos.

The program is open to creators in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, India, Australia and New Zealand; it opens today and entries close on December 28, 2012.

We’re looking forward to seeing what you can teach us!

    please let us custume our own YOutube please..
    or u custume use my idea...
    coz new style of youtube is not really nice...
    what i want:
    -new Style Youtube big screen
    -old style youtube sub videos ( means i can see ppl that i sub...by press video ..now new youtube.. u press videos..then it open that page.. and why i dont like? i was watching /listening song..then i wan find what to play next..but i press videos only it go to new page...means that its quite not good...
    it make me need like copy paste... I WAN OLD STYLE of sub videos ....

  3. Sad to say, there's more than just "submitting your channel". You have to already be popular. I've been uploading 1-4 videos a week for 2 years, and I still don't meet the requirements of subscribers (50000 or views (a million). :(

Well i sure didnt see this post early enough or i would have entered my channel for "How to" on cars and truck we already have some number one videos on youtube and google for that subject, and youtube if its 50k subs well you need to go back to your old style format because the new way is near impossible to grow your channel or promote, the friends thing is gone too. Anyways our goal for 2013 is to become the number one "How to" channel for cars and trucks we now shoot HD and even multi-camera to produce even better how to videos on youtube Later Cody of 1159 Videos www.youtube.com/rumrunner439
